Road of wine

As it comes from its name, during this walk we visit places related to wine making. We depart from the bottom of the Sánc mountain, from here we can see the grape fields. We walk to the Rókus street next to the Halászcsárda. Passing by the Rókus Chapel we reach the Prelate. The origin of the name is, a long time ago it was the resting place of Bednárcz Róbert priest of Budapest, who has authorized to honorary prelate by the pope. He trenched himself the grape fields on 8 hectare and made wines in the cellary under the building. Continue our walk towards the town along the Rókus street and after along the Deák Ferenc street until we reach the Kurcz mansion on the right side. Gentry people used these mansions for living in the 18-19th century. Keep walking until the next mansion, which is the House of Deák. This building was the mansion of Szeniczey family, nowadays it has been renovated and became the part of the Town Museum. The origin of the name is, Ferenc Deák used to visited their relatives who lived here. We can take a break under the white mulberry tree, which is next to the mansion. This tree was planted by the Cseh-Vigyázó family when they was building their mansion. The statue of Jámbor Pál stands in the Saint Stephan square. From here let’s walk to the catholic church, then pass by the football ground in front of the catholic school and we reach the reformed church. When we arrive the Kossuth street keep to the right until the evangelistic church. Wine has an important role in ceremonies hold in churches. Continue our walk along the Kossuth street, then the Fevérvári street we a reach a turining point from where we find ourself in Sárgödör square right away. Now take the opportunity and visit one of the wineries.
